Milling Procedures

Before operating  this machine use all safety precautions and good common sense

Observe All Warning and Precautions

Lock model on platform using knob (C).  Tilt to desired angle and lock in place with lever (B), rotate tilt model platform as necessary, lock in place with lever (A).

When inserting a bur/cutting tool into the motor, be certain that it is inserted all the way into the collet.  There should be a minimal amount of extension of the cutting tool shank.  Excess amount of extension of the cutting tool shank can be dangerous, especially high speeds.

Using the provided wrenchs, tighten collet sufficiently.  Rotate motor spindle by hand to confirm that the cutting tool is turning straight. (I.E., Centric).  If not, repeat procedure until the bur/cutting tool etc. turns straight and true. Be certain the cutting tool is appropriate and in good condition.

(See accompanying safety instructions).

Adjust vertical height of articulated arms.  Loosen/Lock lever (K) set the coarse adjustment, next set the fine adjustment (I).
Set governor, if desired, by turning knob (G) to limit the maximum RPM achievable when foot pedal is fully depressed.
If unfamiliar with procedures, a milling class is highly recommended.

DRILLING PROCEDURES:

Use procedures previously described to position model, adjust arms vertical height and insert cutting/drilling tool. Loosen lever (E) to allow motor to freely raise and lower.
Position motor/drill bit over area to be drilled, lock all arms using levers (M, K, L, J),  loosen thumb screw (F)  set depth stop, retighten.

TAP AND SURVEY PROCEDURES:

Remove motor arm (O), mount adjustable chuck (not shown) onto shaft (H) lock in place with black thumb screw, mount tap/undercut tool in three jaw chuck, use lever (J) to lock/loosen shaft (H).

INSTALLATION / MAINTENANCE (SAFETY)

Be sure that your air source is off and there is no pressure in your air line.
Connect filter/regulator/lubricator to your air line.  Connect foot pedal to filter/regulator/lubricator.  Using the quick connector, couple your foot pedal to the air motor.

Familiarize your self with the features and functions of various aspects and components of the unit.  (See diagram).

Be sure that there is always oil in the oiler and no more than 90 PSI ( LB per sq. inch) air pressure is used.

Using the regulator, reduce pressure to zero before adding oil to the lubricator.

CAUTIONBe sure that the lubricator unit has sufficient oil and no more than 90 LB per sq. inch air pressure is used.

(Use FERRARO turbine oil).

Replace any damaged, worn or improperly functioning parts.

Using the regulator, reduce pressure to zero before adding oil to the lubricator.

SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:

Remember: Use Approved Safety Goggles, Dust Mask and Dust Collecting System, this applies to the user and all persons in the area.

Replace any damaged, worn or improperly functioning parts.

Never run motor at high speed without a load on it.  (I.E., without milling-drilling etc.)
Familiarize yourself with the features and functions of various aspects and components of the unit.  (See diagram).

Replace any damaged, worn or improperly functioning parts.
