 BASIC

Milling Procedures

 

  Before operating  this machine use all safety precautions and good common sense

 

Observe All Warning and Precautions

 

Lock model on platform using knob (C).  Tilt to desired angle and lock in place with lever (B), rotate tilt model platform as necessary, lock in place with lever (A).

 

When inserting a bur/cutting tool into the motor, be certain that it is inserted all the way into the collet.  There should be a minimal amount of extension of the cutting tool shank.  Excess amount of extension of the cutting tool shank can be dangerous, especially high speeds. 

Using the provided wrenchs, tighten collet sufficiently.  Rotate motor spindle by hand to confirm that the cutting tool is turning straight. (I.E., Centric).  If not, repeat procedure until the bur/cutting tool etc. turns straight and true. Be certain the cutting tool is appropriate and in good condition.

Adjust vertical height of articulated arms.  Loosen/Lock lever (K) set the coarse adjustment, next set the fine adjustment (I). 

 

Set speed by turning knob (F) to the maximum RPM desired when foot pedal is depressed.

 

If unfamiliar with procedures, a milling class is highly recommended.

 

TAP AND SURVEY PROCEDURES:

 

Remove motor arm (N), mount adjustable chuck (not shown) onto shaft (H) with black thumb screw (I) mount tap/undercut tool in three jaw chuck, use lever (J) to lock/loosen shaft (H)  .

 

 

 

SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS: 

 

 

Remember: Use Approved Safety Goggles, Dust Mask and Dust Collecting System, this applies to the user and all persons in the area.

Use this tool in conjunction with an adequate dust collector.
