Basic Operating Instructions

If the Precision Stent Drill does not sit flat, adjust feet (S) to compensate for uneven surface.

Install motor/arm on shaft (D), lock in place with lever (L).

Mount model on platform (H), lock model securely using knob (J), loosen lever (K) determine angle of model and lock in place using lever (K). ) pressing button (R) to prevent  motor shaft from rotating as you unscrewing collet nut (G), insert appropriate collet for the desired drill, insert desired drill, again press button (R) to prevent  motor shaft from rotating as you lock collet nut using provided collet wrench.

Loosen lever (M) position motor/drill over area to be drilled, lock in place using lever (M) (tip of drill should be vertically close to area to be drilled).

Regardless of the technique used the stent/surgical template, model and model holder need to be stabilized using equalized finger/hand pressure. Observe all safety precautions.

If the depth of drilled hole is not critical follow this instruction.

Set desired speed using speed control dial (F), turn motor on using switch (E), if using a foot pedal depress foot pedal to start motor, with finger tips (for a sensitive feel) on knob of drilling arm/lever (B) delicately move arm towards you & down until you have drilled hole to desired depth, move arm (B) back to its original position, turn off motor (E).

If the depth is critical follow this instruction.

See illustrations below note, that the depth of a drilled hole is measured from (AA) not the tip of the drill (BB).

Use the previous technique however only drill a shallow hole, turn off motor and lower drill using drilling lever/arm (B) until the point of the drill is in the hole as in illustration (AA), turn on dial indicator, push its zero button (this will zero out the indicator) select either mm or inch, proceed to complete the drilling task using the readings on the dial indicator to measure your depth.

An alternative method would be to proceed to the point where you zero out and select mm/inch, next move the model & model mounting platform (H) to the side, lower the motor/drill using (B) until the indicator reads zero, continue lowering until the indicator reads the desired depth, lock arm in place using thumb screw (2), loosen thumb screw (1) and slide collar up until it contacts primary arm (arm with black thumb screw (2)), lock collar with thumb screw (1), you have now set the depth stop.

Loosen (2), reposition model & model holder to its previous location by aligning it to the drill, and proceed to drill until the primary arm contacts the depth stop collar.

Safety Instructions

Remember, Use Approved Safety Goggles.

When inserting a bur/cutting tool into the motor, be certain that it is inserted all the way into the collet.  There should be a minimal amount of extension of the cutting tool.  Excess amount of extension of the cutting tool can be dangerous, especially high speeds.

********************

Using the provided wrench, tighten collet sufficiently.  Spin spindle by hand to confirm that the cutting tool is turning straight. (I.E., Centric).  If not, repeat procedure until the bur/cutting tool etc. turns straight and true. Be certain the cutting tool is appropriate and in good condition.

Never run motor at full speed without a load on it.  (I.E., without milling-drilling etc.)

Persons in the vicinity also need to use safety goggles and dust masks.
